How to Configure Tenda Router? (PPPoE, DHCP & Static IP)

There are three types of setup for internet connection (surf web service) in routers. Those are DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), PPPoE(Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) and Static IP(Internet Protocol) setup. To make this text a whole guide, I have shared the compact details step to step for setting up to a Tenda router don’t use CD.

Configure WAN(Wide Area Network) & LAN(Local Area Network) Port of Tenda Router

Read these steps seriously to set up your Tenda router absolutely within your office, apartment or home. It is a very important part of setting the router because without a perfect physical setup it is not possible to run a router well.

Step-1
At first, remove the router box and connect the power adapter to the router.
Step-2
Then connect the Ethernet cable (from ISP RJ45) to the WAN port on the device.

Note: You can connect another Ethernet cable to LAN(Local Area Network) port on the device to your Computer (PC) or Laptop. It is not essential for your laptop if your laptop has Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) features otherwise it is required.

DHCP Setup for Tenda Router

DHCP is common and best setup in any router.

For Tenda routers, Simply head to wireless settings and choose DHCP and set a password for your router and save it. That’s all done for DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) on Tenda.

DHCP is completely managed by the ISP and works best for a group of connections within the same network.

Tenda Router Setup with Static IP(Internet Protocol) (without CD)

Now get your informatics details from the ISP and begin the configuration–

Step-1
At first, open your web browser in your device and input 192.168.0.1 in the address bar then press ‘Enter’ to reach the router login page.

Step-2
Then type “admin” within the password box and press OK button. [ Tenda router Default password is “admin”] Step-3
Then click on ‘Internet Connection Setup’. After that click the dropdown menu of the Internet connection type and select ‘Static IP’.

Step-4
Then input IP Address, Subnet mask, Default gateway, Preferred DNS(Domain Name System) server and Alternate DNS server one by one and press OK button.
Step-5
After pressing the OK button, you’ll see your internet connection status as connected.

Above method was the fastest manner if you woulf like to setup static IP on Tenda router.

Configure Tenda Router using PPPoE Mode

PPPoE mode is that the best mode for any router setup. For Tenda, follow the steps below-
Step-1
First of all, to go 192.168.0.1 from your browser. Then login with the Default password. Type “admin” within the password box and press OK button. [“admin” or “admin1234” is the default password of Tenda router login].

Step-2

After that, on the Internet Connection Setup screen choose the PPPoE possibility. There fill the PPPoE username(your connection id) and password given by your ISP. Then enter a Security Key then click OK.

Now, simply restart the router once so begin to use your internet. These were the easy steps to setup Tenda router using PPPoE mode.

This is the best part.

If you have already got immediate internet connection to your Computer or Laptop via local area network, then, fortunately, you can find your provided ISP details on your Internet IPv4 settings. Follow these steps and get your details–

Find the ISP-Provided IP Addresses on PC

Just follow the direction which is given below–
Step-1
At first, go to the control panel(computer setting option menu) and click on Network and the Internet.

Step-2
Then click on ‘Network and Sharing Center’. After that, click on change adapter settings link.

Step-3
There you will find Local Area Connection. Then just right click on Local Area Connection and click on properties. Here you will see Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4). Then double click on it and it will open a window.

Step-4
There you’ll see IP Address, Subnet mask, Default gateway, most well-liked DNS server and Alternate DNS server. Just note down those one-by-one carefully.

Click OK and close.

How to Change Wi-Fi SSID(Service Set Identifier) and Password on Tenda Router?

To know a waay to modification name and password in Tenda router simply follow these steps one by one that is showing below–
Step-1
At first, open your web browser and go to 192.168.0.1.
Step-2

Then type “admin” within the password box and press OK button. [ Tenda router Default password is “admin”] Step-3
Then click on the ‘Advanced’ option.
Step-4
Now click on ‘Wireless’ that you’ll find the top of the router page then visit ‘Wireless basic settings’ option.
Step-5
Here you will see Primary SSID. Then write the SSID name of your router no matter you wish. After that press OK button. [SSID is the name of the router network].

Step-6
Then go to the ‘Wireless Security’ option which you will see the left side of the page and you will see security key box. Then type your password which you want to save. After that press OK button to save the settings.

After saving the settings your router are going to be disconnected and can take a restart. Just connect once again and Enjoy!

So, these were the simple methods to configure (Setting) a Tenda router. If you wish to switch additional settings there you’ll find all options in your router settings (e.g. blocking a user, bandwidth control, hide SSID etc).
